You dont need to inform USCIS about new passport, but make sure you carry your old as well as new passport, dont discard the old passport as yet.

1. Legally speaking he has to leave immeditely. But INS is not inhuman in those cases. If he finds a job within a few weeks he should be ok unless his previous company cancels H1b.
2. At least he has to get some H1B before his previous company cancels H1b. for transfering H1b.
3. If his previous company does not cancel H1b he can stay some time may be 1 or 2 months(But he will be out of status not overstay). If his company cancels H1b then that will be overstay then he has to leave the country. Best thing is find a consulting company and file H1b transfer before previous company cancels H1b. If that is not possible he can switch to F1 if he gets admission in University.
4. Recent paystub is needed to transfer H1b. If recent paystub is not there then it is INS dicretion to give H1b transfer

They all died due natural cause and age. They are all more than eighty years old. I was trying to emphasis, in this forum we do not need to discuss about YSR. He might be a beloved leader for someone and corrupt for others. Whatever may be the case take your discussion to the relevant place. The reason I started this thread to emphasis that there are lot of people dying across the country and around the world and we do not need to hold prayer for every one or they poor souls are not different from YSR and they also deserve to be remembered in our prayers. We should note that this bill was introduced in mid march and we didn't have any clue (including IV) sometimes chances of such bills may be easier to pass if the bill author chooses to include the provisions into another bill. Sometimes it better to stay low and get the provisions passed..;) ..... Overall i feel the provisions of this bill may get included into another one like 6039 or so

I believe one will be eligible for SS after attaining 40 credits. There is no residency requirement. WRT 401K, you might ending up paying a penalty of 10% in addition to 30% tax.

Am I missing something here. Isn't it via country of birth and not country of citizenship. There might be better ways to get around the system. EB2 Indians should marry EB3 ROW folk and apply cross-chargeability! I have yet to think of a way out for EB3 India!

Recently I have heard that when the company publishes advertisement for the labor when filling for fresh PERM, every time there is a response coming back because of the higher rate of unemployment in the market. The issue is, if any response comes back then the company cannot proceed with the labor and new GC process gets hung.
So, to be on safer side just check on ur skill set before resigning the current job as it should not be readily available in the market.

If this happens it will be a bad news as given environment I 140 approval takes years . Very soon there will be a backlog in I 140 stage.. They are just swaping backlog from one stage to another..

I send my AINP Application package on 18th March (H1-B worker stream) and was received by the AINP on 20th March. However I have not received any confirmation or a file number yet since it takes 2 months. Any idea if my application will be considered according to the current policies or according to the new changes that are coming up on April 15th?

This might be a simple stupid question,
Can you please update, if you used a standard 2*2 passport taken here in the applicaiton form or got one 3.5 cm * 3.5 cm as put in the passport form. If yes, where did you took one. The standard size Passport Photo appears to be a little bigger than the one specified in the Passport application.

I have a priority date of March 2004 (EB2 India) and I am still waiting for my Green Card. I think majority of the 2004 filers are in the same boat except for a lucky few who were able to get the green card after the July fiasco.
So don't buildup your hopes too high. I firmly beleive that very soon there will be a repeat of what we saw last year in July and the green cards will be distributed once again out of order.
So if you are one of those luck ones, you might get it.

Nope...she is out of status if you lose your H-1b. At any point of time, inside the US, she has to have a valid status. It can be H-4, H-4 extension pending or AOS. If she is not in any of the three, then she is accrueing unlawful presence.
